Does knowing more foreign languages help you get accepted into college?

Instead of taking many Advanced Placement (AP) classes, you decide to take only a couple, but at the same time, you are able to take many SAT subject tests on foreign languages.
does this have the same weight as these AP classes? would a school such as Harvard accept your application purely because you know so many languages?

It also depends on what college but what colleges want to see is that you’re a hard worker. If you’ve taken the time to attain knowledge in those extra foreign languages, great, but if not and if you don’t need to know numerous types of foreign languages for the job applications, then it’s not necessary.

AP classes are to get the college credit, before your actually in college
it is extremly good to have more than one, or 2 foreign languages. and yes it is very close in having the same weight.
but as for being accepted into Harvord, they look for hard classes, test scores, and extra cirricular activies, and wether or not your a leader.

It really just depends on your career. If you know a lot of languages it is good for you but colleges really look at whether you follow through with your languages and not just take them for 1 or 2 years just to say that you took a lot of languages.

It would sort of depend on what kind of school/program you’re applying to.
Focusing on languages wouldn’t give you much of an edge if you were, for example, going into chemical engineering. Unless what you’re planning to major in do involve a heavy focus on language (world literature, business, history, or the various language majors themselves, for instance), you’d probably be better off going for the AP classes, especially as those can actually earn you college credit in addition to looking good on an application.
I started college with 11 credit hours on my transcript because of AP classes/exams. Almost a full semester.

They won’t help you get into college. Believe me. I knew German and Spanish and that had no impact.
Your SAT scores have the high impact as well as your GPA.
The only benefit of knowing more languages is to get noticed first when trying to find a job. Your chances of getting a job that require languages are MUCH higher.
Besides when you start college, regardless of major, you start with basics, you don’t go straight into your major.
